Who I Am &

A highly experienced nurse. A published editorial writer.

Someone who can communicate with your patients in language they understand.

Clinical Nursing Experience

Diverse Clinical Background
With over 15 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, I bring more than clinical knowledge to my writing - I bring credibility, precision, and compassion.

My nursing background spans surgical and general medical wards, private hospital settings, and academic education. I have provided direct care across a wide range of specialties, including paediatrics, gynaecology, gastroenterology, plastic surgery, eye surgery, ENT, and urology. My work in post-surgical recovery has involved managing complex infections, intricate wound care, and the safe handling of surgical drains, IDCs, IVCs, and post-operative medications. I’m highly experienced in post-op care instruction - educating patients and families on wound care, medication routines, and mobility, while ensuring clinical accuracy and emotional reassurance.

Collaborative, Multidisciplinary Care
I’ve worked closely with clinical management teams, surgeons, anaesthetists, and allied health professionals, helping coordinate care across multiple disciplines. I’ve also liaised directly with educational management teams across major hospitals in South East Queensland to support nursing students in both academic and clinical settings.

Teaching Through Empathy and Clarity
This is not only high-level clinical experience, it’s also a masterclass in communication. Working with student nurses has taught me to deliver complex medical information in ways that are clear, supportive, and sensitive to individual learning needs. I’ve helped vulnerable and highly emotional learners find their feet in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. It required adapting to different personalities, translating clinical language into personalised guidance, and balancing education with empathy.

Bridging Experience and Communication
This deep well of experience is the foundation of my work as a medical content writer.

My Experience as a Copywriter

Editorial Experience
In addition to medical writing, I am also an experienced editorial journalist and content writer. In my free time, I write the historical editorial column for the Caboolture Guide and Chermside Guide magazines, contribute monthly to the Redcliffe Guide magazine through interviews and feature editorials, and write local stories for the Sandgate and North Lakes Guide magazines.

I’ve been writing for these publications for over five years as a featured editorial writer, with all articles published in print across the magazines. I work to tight deadlines and interview professionals from a wide range of industries and backgrounds.

This experience has made me a reliable, highly trained, and adaptable writer with the professionalism and editorial skill to consistently deliver polished, engaging content on time, every time.

Lifestyle and Industry Writing
I have written across the hospitality, bridal, and lifestyle industries, with published work ranging from fine dining reviews and wedding trend guides to food philosophy pieces and seasonal menu development. My experience also extends to recipe development and restaurant profiles. I have also worked as a social media editor and submissions manager for one of Australia’s most reputable wedding publications

Writing With Purpose
I now write professionally for health organisations, hospitals, and specialist clinics, using my insight to create content that is both medically accurate and human-centred. I specialise in translating complex medical information into clear, reassuring language that patients can trust.

Outside of professional writing, I maintain a personal food blog. Examples of my published lifestyle and editorial writing can be found here.
